Armed assailants have killed a teacher and seized a minimum of 25 learners in an assault against a educational institution for young women in Nigeria's northwestern region, according to police.
The criminal group stormed the comprehensive secondary school for girls in Maga, Kebbi State at roughly 4 in the morning local time on Monday, police confirmed.
The armed individuals "engaged police personnel on duty in a firefight" before scaling the perimeter fence and taking the pupils captive from their dormitory, an official report indicated.
