Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the this year's Young Athlete of the Year award.

The trio have been honoured for their exceptional achievements over the past 12 months.

Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses claim victory in Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the first time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a historic innings.

Littler won the award in 2024 after his sensational debut year.

The three contenders were announced live on a widely-listened-to radio show.

This year's winner will be announced during a live broadcast on the Sports Personality of the Year show on December 18th.

The show will be televised from 19:00 GMT.

The Football Star

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Only 90 days after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to winning the Euros.

She was introduced as a substitute to score key tying goals in both the quarter-final and semi-final.

Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.

Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the best young player in Europe.

She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.

Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.

"Being nominated for this award is incredible," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."

The Darts Prodigy

The year started for Littler in incredible form as - aged 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.

He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.

He didn't stop there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the first time.

At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, breaking the previous record.

"To receive a nomination for the honour once more is a big honour," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a highlight for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."

The Cricket Sensation

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and rose to fame with an remarkable and historic innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.

It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.

Perrin came in second place in the season's run tally and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.

"I'm deeply humbled to be nominated for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it motivates more girls to get into cricket."
