The United Kingdom is set to progress with employing the entire amount of frozen Russia's funds to aid Ukraine's military campaign, PM Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a joint statement, the leaders of the Britain, the French Republic, and Germany asserted that this joint measure would increase strain on Russian President Vladimir Putin and urge Russia to come to the table.

They added that the initiative would be executed in close cooperation with the United States.

United Kingdom restrictions have frozen more than £25bn of Russia's assets since the Russian government initiated its comprehensive attack against Ukraine in 2022. However, up to this point, resources provided to the Ukrainian government using Russian assets had exclusively been taken from profits and interest earned on them.

Sir Keir informed Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany were united in their desire to push forward toward using the total worth of the seized Russia's state holdings to halt hostilities.

He added that more sanctions soon would heighten the tension on Moscow.

This declaration is subsequent to European leaders gathered in the Danish capital last week to discuss using seized Russian funds for a 140-billion-euro credit to Ukraine.
